How to access Florence historic centre
by car
|
|
Florence Historic Centre is a ZTL ("Zona a Traffico Limitato"
or Limited Traffic Zone), a restricted traffic area controlled by
a network of video cameras.
Only vehicles with a ZTL permit are allowed to access the city
center at any time. Vehicles withouth such a permit can not access
the ZTL from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, from 7:30
a.m. to 6:0 p.m on Suturday (the access is allowed to any car on
Sunday). During the summer, generally from June to Semptember, the
centre is also closed from 11.00 p.m to 3 a.m. (Thursday, Friday
and Suturday night).
If you need to access by car the ZTL within these hours to reach
one or our apartments you will have to park in one of the indoor
garages located in the Historic Centre (at a cost of around 30 euros
a day). Once you arrive they will pass on the details of your vehicle
(number plate, etc.) to the local city police and the fine issued
on your vehicle will be cancelled.
Please note that times and days changes very often so please the
website of the Comune di Firenze for more detailed and updated
information.
