SECURITY DEPOSIT
- TO BOOK YOUR APARTMENT
Short term rentals:
In order to reserve an apartment you will be required to pay
a deposit of around 25% of the agreed rental. For the majority of apartments
it will be possible to pay by using your credit card. For others the preferred
method of payment is Pay
Pal. Pay Pal is secure and allow you to pay by using your credit
card. Please make your payment with Pay Pal only after receiving our
formal request including the details of your booking.
For short term/all inclusive price rentals the deposit you pay to reserve
the apartment will normally be treated as part payment and on arrival
you will be only required to pay the balance.
Long term rentals:
For long term rentals it is more likely that you will be required to make
a bank transfer in favour of the owner of the apartment (normally for
an amount equal to a month rental). For long term rentals the deposit
you pay to book the apartment will be held as a guarantee and returned
to you at the end of the tenancy (after deducting the cost of utilities
and possible damages);
BALANCE (RENTAL
PAYMENT) - CASH OR CREDIT CARD?
At your arrival most owners expect payment in cash or travelers cheque's
(as some of them has no credit card facilities). In same cases we can
take credit card payments but there is an extra charge of 4%. If you wish
to pay the balance by using your card please enquire before arrival to
make sure we this is possible. It is also very important you contact
your credit card Company before leaving your Country to ensure that authorization
will be granted (often authorization is denied for amount over 400 dollars
or so).
The rental payment is always due in advance (or in monthly installments
in advance if it is a long term rental).
ANY EXTRAS
TO PAY?
For some apartments there is an extra € 50 charge for arrival:
a. after 20.00 hours weekday;
b. after 13.00 on Saturdays;
c. all day Sunday and International holidays (such as 25th December....).
You should refer to the information on the individual apartments
to check if this charge applies. In any event we will remind you before
you book.
CANCELLATION
- DO I LOOSE MY DEPOSIT IF I CANCELL?
For cancellations
made the following number of days before the arranged arrival date the
deposit will be:
90 or more: will return 75%
of the deposit paid (less transfer expenses).
between 90 and 60: will return 60% of the deposit paid (less transfer
expenses)
between 60 and 25: will return 30% of the deposit paid ( less transfer
expenses)
less than 25 : the deposit will be forfeited.
Please that in case of "no show" at the apartment the rental is due in total.
CONTRACT -
WHEN CAN I BE SURE THAT THE APARTMENT IS BOOKED?
The contract is made as soon as we accept your deposit payment
or as soon as you receive our confirmation message whichever takes place
earlier.
FINAL INFORMAL
NOTES
Once you are in the apartment you will have a telephone mobile
number you can call in case you have any problem with the apartment. All
of our apartments are in buildings at least 200 years old (but more often
400 or 500 years old). Despite the fact that all our apartments have been
done up in the last 15 years and have central heating and often airconditioning,
little problems are bound to occurs. We will make the impossible to solve
them but unfortunately a little inconvenience for you can not be ruled
out.
